Incarcerated youth were not at the top of anyone’s mind in those chaotic & fearful first few weeks of the pandemic. Juvenile justice was already an extremely difficult subject to photograph — access is rare. For over a month Jones documented detention, transition, aid facilities & programs in NYC & NJ as they worked tirelessly to keep incarcerated, homeless & at-risk youth safe from COVID-19.
